In Luke 10:38–42, Jesus enters the home of Martha and Mary. While Martha rushes around trying to prepare their home for Him, Mary simply sits at Jesus’ feet and listens. Jesus gently reminds Martha—and us—that only one thing is truly needed: to be with Him. Our lives don’t need to be perfect or cleaned up for Jesus to come close. He meets us in the chaos and invites us to slow down and be still. Like Mary, we’re called to choose what is better. And like Jesus, we’re invited to be fully present with others—loving them, listening to them, and creating space for God to move in their lives.
