Tonight we hear a testimony from Austin Rivera, a young adult here at Purpose Church, as he shares his story of anxiety and depression and how God found him and showed him love and grace in the midst of these hard mental health struggles. We then get to hear from an incredible panel of HSM leaders on their personal experiences with anxiety or depression, as students submit anonymous questions for them to answer.

Anxiety: An emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts, and physical changes. People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts/concerns, may avoid certain situations out of worry, & also have physical symptoms like sweating, trembling, dizziness, and a rapid heartbeat (American Psychological Association).

Depression: People with depression may experience a lack of interest and pleasure in daily activities, significant weight loss or gain, insomnia or excessive sleeping, lack of energy, inability to concentrate, feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt and recurrent thoughts of death or suicide (American Psychological Association).
