It’s easy to give up on the church when we see its flaws, experience hurt, or encounter problems that seem too big to solve. As we explore Acts 6, we look at why we shouldn’t give up on the church: it is full of sinners like us, it can improve as we address problems together, and it needs willing participants who use their gifts to serve others. Through the early church’s response to conflict and the needs of overlooked widows, we see how shared ministry allows God’s people to care for one another while advancing His Kingdom. When we share Jesus with our words and show Jesus through our actions, others can see Him and follow Him as Lord. The church isn’t perfect, but God is still at work through His people, on His mission, by His Spirit and He invites every one of us to be part of it.
