Today we are led by guest Pastor Steve Dang, a Fuller Seminary graduate, who serves as Campus Pastor and Chief Ministry Officer at Valley Christian Schools in San Jose, CA. Kicking off the start our new series, the Upper Room and look into the way Jesus was an example to us. In John 13, Jesus, fully aware of His authority and identity, kneels down and washes His disciples’ feet. He doesn’t serve out of insecurity or obligation, but from confidence in who He is and where He is going. He then tells His followers to do the same. When it comes to service, disciples of Jesus are not the exception—they are the example. Serving reshapes our hearts, moving us toward joy, gratitude, humility, and compassion. From the earliest centuries, Christians were known for visible, sacrificial love that made hope tangible in the world around them.
