I Don’t Talk Like I Used To | Haley Newman | New Year, New Me: God’s Plan For Our Transformation

Scripture has a lot to say about humility and complaining. Humility is lacking pride or arrogance. Complaining is the expression of dissatisfaction or annoyance about something. Is there a way to express annoyance in a way that honors God? Is venting okay to do as Christians? Venting can be okay for Christians, but it depends heavily on how, to whom, and with what intention. It’s healthy when it leads to processing emotions, seeking wisdom, and building up others (like lamenting to God), but becomes sin if it turns into gossip, slander, uncontrolled anger, aimed at tearing others down, rather than building up. The key is to move from mere emotional release to constructive sharing, prayer, or problem-solving, ensuring words build up rather than tear down.
