We pick up the Christmas Story with Joseph’s perspective on Mary conceiving a child before they are married. Since Joseph does not know yet that this is the Holy Spirit’s plan for Jesus to be born, the future he expected is totally shattered. However, Joseph remains honorable in this tough situation and trusts the Lord when he learns that this is all a part of God’s greater purpose. Joseph’s story helps us understand today that Jesus is greater than our future. It also encourages us in the middle of our fear and uncertainties to obey God today in order to trust Him with tomorrow.
